Little Things Matter

I’ve often heard people say “Don’t sweat the small stuff” or “Life’s too short to worry about the little things”. However, Jesus said, “it’s those who are faithful over little that he will make ruler over much” (Matthew 25:23). LITTLE THINGS MATTER!

I don’t believe we should worry about the little things or become overly concerned about the small stuff, but I do believe we need to pay attention to the little things. It is the little foxes that spoil the vine. (Song of Solomon 2:15) The significance of little things is seen many times through out God’s Word: the little gift of the widow, the little water pots in which Jesus performed His first miracle, the little bit of meal and oil that fed the widow and her son, a boys little sack lunch that fed 5000, Moses’ little rod that help deliver the Hebrew children, etc.

God is looking for those who will pay attention and be faithful in the small stuff, so He can then give them the bigger stuff. The big is in the little. Never underestimate or think what you’re doing is insignificant. It’s the “little things” that can become “big” things to many people. A little smile, a little pat on the back, a little word of encouragement — these “LITTLE” acts of kindness can lift a troubled spirit. LITTLE THINGS MATTER!

Doing the little things that no one sees, praying every day, reading the Word, helping some one in need, being on time, doing what’s right even when no one is watching, they are the seeds of Bigger Things. What you do with the seemly small stuff in life is important because it will help you get elevated to the bigger stuff. Today are you going to pay attention to the little things? LITTLE THINGS MATTER!
