Miracles – 2 major ingredients to receive a miracle…

Miracles by Pastor Bruce Edwards

2 Key Ingredients for miracles

The Bible is filled with miracles, the burning bush, the parting of the Red Sea, manna from heaven, a talking donkey, the sun and moon standing still, a flying chariot, water turned into wine, feeding five thousand with a few pieces of breadand a couple fish, and the greatest of all – the resurrection of Jesus. The miracles in the Bible really happened and they still happen today! God is a God of wonders and miracles.

Miracles are Real

Some try to explain away the miracles of the Bible, some believe they were only for the past, but they are for today and for you. They happen every day all around us and all around the world. There are no limits to the wonders God will do. They are for real. They don’t happen by accident or magic and just some coincidence.

Christianity Requires Miracles

It is difficult to overstate the importance of miracles for the Christian faith. Christianity requires miracles. Without them there is no baby Jesus, no resurrected Christ, and no salvation. Get ready for your miracle.

What is a Miracle

How you define a miracle is very important. What one considers a miracle, others think of as mere coincidence. For many miracles are only viewed in the realm of some sort of supernatural communication or action.

To get an accurate understanding and perspective on miracles we first must realize there are different kinds and types of miracles. If your definition of a miracle is limited to only something that defies natural law you will miss many of the miracles happening around you every day.

Life is a miracle. If you’ve ever witnessed the birth of a baby you’ve seen a miracle. I’ve done over 50 weddings and when two believers make their vows one to another God performs a miracle – He takes two individuals and makes them one. The mercy we receive from God every day is a miracle. God’s divine protection is a miracle.

Love is a miracle. In fact the miracles of Jesus were a product of love. Many say Jesus did miracles to prove He was God, but Jesus performed miracles because “He was moved with compassion” not to prove He was God. The miracles He did do provide evidence of His deity, but that’s not why He did them. Love still produces miracles today.

God is a God of wonders and of miracles, large and small. God still preforms signs and wonders today that defy natural law. “For nothing will be impossible with God.” Luke 1:37 However, even when God performs His Word for someone who believes – that’s a miracle. When you allow God to put His super on your natural it becomes supernatural. Your steps can be directed by God. The favor of God opens doors no man can shut. He can deliver you out of dangerous and difficult situations.

If you’re a believer you’ve received what may be the greatest miracle that any human could ever experience. You have become a new creation in Christ, all things are new. (2Corinthians 5:17) You were lost, without hope, and a child of the devil. You are now a child of God.

Do You Need a Miracle?

I have good news, God has whatever you need and He will provide just what you need when you need it. He is a God of miracles!  They are as natural to Him as breathing is to us.

There are two major ingredients to receiving a miracle.

1) Faith. Miracles begin with faith. Faith begins by believing. Jesus said, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23). The most important thing you need to receive your miracle is faith. Faith is NOT JUST WORDS – Faith is action. When you read His Word and believe what it says and then act on your faith things begin to happen.

2) Patience. While miracles begin with faith they are received through patience. Hebrews 6:12 says, “imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised”. God is a God of timing. This was true even for the birth of Jesus. Galatians 4:4 tells us “When the time came to completion, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law” (HCSB) Notice what it said, “When the time came . . . ” At just the right time God sent His Son. Miracles take time – they take patience.

There are miracles for you so, don’t miss yours – have faith and patience!

God is always there with just what you need, just when you need it. Get ready for your miracle!

You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.”  (Psalms 77:14)
