Take the Limits Off God – 3 Steps to a limitless life

TAKE THE LIMITS OFF GOD

take the limits off god by Pastor Bruce EdwardsIt’s time for you to take the limits off God. Often without realizing it we put limits on God. We tend to only see things from our perspective, our weaknesses, our lack, our feelings of inferiority, our doubt and fears. We superimpose those thoughts on God and forget just how great God is. When you limit God what you’re really doing is limiting you. It is time to take the limits off God and be all that God has created you to be.

Living the Limitless Life

God created you for greatness. Sadly, most people never reach their God given potential. Why? They’ve put limitations on their life. They aren’t smart enough, have made too great of mistakes, come from the wrong side of the tracks, don’t feel they are worthy, not good enough, not talented enough, etc. It’s time to see yourself the way a limitless God has made.

You are His workmanship – His masterpiece. (Ephesians 2:10) If you see yourself as no one special, then you won’t live out the special unique limitless life God has for you. God has great plans for you “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) Part of taking the limits off God is so you can experience the limitless life He has for you. God is at work in you right now. (Philippians 2:13) Take the limits off God and live the limitless life He has for you.

God Is Able

If you will take the limits of God He will not only meet your needs He will give you the desires of your heart and even greater. Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,” Notice it says regardless of what you think, God is able to do over and above anything you can even think of. God is ABLE to do the impossible! Don’t limit God by what only you can do. Put God into the equation and tap into the limitless power of God.

3 Changes You Need to Make – to Take the Limits Off God

How do we take the limits off God? If you want step into the destiny God has for you, be who God created you to be, and live the limitless life there are somethings you need to change. Here are three changes you can make that will help you take the limits off God.

1. Change How You See God.

The Bible tells us God is so big that the heavens can’t contain Him. (1Kings 8:27) He is all-powerful and all-knowing. God is infinite – without limits. God is a big God! The real question is, how big is YOUR God? When your God is too small, your problems are too big and as a result you give into fear and doubt. But when you realize how big God is, your problems pale in comparison and you stand in awe of almighty God – creator of heaven and earth – giver of life. Focus on how big God is and not how big your problems are. Why not stop limiting God in your life and take the limits off God?

2. Change your thinking.

What you think determines what you believe and what you believe determines what you do. Proverbs 23:7 says, “as a person thinks in their heart, so are they.” What are you thinking – about you – about God – about the circumstance is your life?

Change you thinking to line up with what the Word of God says. The Word says, your are more than a conqueror, that you are forgiven, that you are blessed, that your are the righteousness of God, that you can do all things through Christ, etc. The Word says God is great, that He loves you, that He is able, that He is willing, that nothing is impossible with Him, etc. Begin to think good and positive things about who you are in Christ.

3. Change your confession.

Your words have power. Proverbs 18:21 tells us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” What you say determines the course of your life. Just like a rudder on a ship determines the direction of a ship. Where you are in life today is a product of the words you’ve spoken. Where you will be tomorrow will be determined by the words you speak today. (James 3:3-4)

Change your confession to speak and declare what God’s Word says. Too often we speak out what we see and feel. We confess what the paper and new reports say. Why not change your confession to the good and positive things God’s Word says.
I’m encouraging you to stop limiting what God can do in your life. If you will change these three things you will be well on your way to taking the limits off God. Change how you see God, change the way you think and change what you’re saying. With God all things are possible. Refuse to limit God.
