The Unshakable Kingdom

The world we live in seems to be spinning out of control. The news is filled with troubling and disturbing reports around the world. Within our own nation, the USA, we see the moral fabric of our society slowing eroding away. The financial markets around the world are in turmoil. Nations and cities are facing bankruptcy. We live in a shaky world. If one is not firmly established in the faith they can easily become shaken.

I want to encourage you, to not be shaken! Hebrews 12:28 tells us, “Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.” As a follower of Christ you are part of “An Unshakable Kingdom”! However, the “kingdoms” built by man are unstable. Empires, governments, social systems, political systems, economic systems all will be shaken and collapse. The world around you may be shaking, but you are part of an Unshakable Kingdom.

Here are three things you must do to remain unshakable in this shaky world;

1. Stay on the Rock. “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise like a person who builds a house on solid rock…, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But …, a person who builds a house on sand…, it will collapse with a mighty crash.” When men refuse to listen to God they put their trust in systems that are “shaky”. They build their lives on “sinking sand”. To be able to withstand the storms of life and the shaking that happens in the world in which we live you must put your trust in Jesus, the rock of our salvation, and stay put on that rock. We do that by always listening to the Lord and doing what He says to do. When you do you will remain unshakable.
2. Stay in Faith. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2Timothy 4:7 Faith is a fight. WE MUST KEEP THE FAITH TO REMAIN UNSHAKEN! We do that by resisting the enemies attempts to get us into fear and doubt. The shaking that happens all around us can create questions that produce fear, doubt and unbelief if we allow them to. We must fight the good fight of faith and resist the thoughts of fear and doubt that try to get us out of faith. Keep your focus on Jesus He is the author and finisher of your faith, instead of getting focused on all the events that try to shake the world. (Hebrews 12:2) Stay in faith and you will remain unshakable.
3. Stay Strong in the Lord. “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might...” (Ephesians 6:10) Our strength is in the Lord not in ourselves. It’s “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6) We must learn to trust Him completely, because He knows and understands all that is happening in and around us. He has promised to be our refuge and our strength. We are not to be afraid or shaken, no matter the circumstances or situation. Deuteronomy 31:6 says this, “?Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Stay strong in the Lord and nothing can shake you.

Don’t ever forget you’re part of an unshakable kingdom! So stay on the rock, stay in faith, stay strong and always be thankful to Him in worship and awe! (Hebrews 12:28) You can remain unshakable in this shaky world.
