Love of a Mother – can’t be measured

love of a mother by pastor bruce edwards

Several years ago Billy Graham said this about mothers, “Only God Himself fully appreciates the influence of a Christian mother in the molding of character in her children.”  There is no way to put a value on the importance of the Love of a Mother.  Having a Godly mother to love, nurture and instruct her children is not only a blessing to her family, but to the larger community that surrounds. Proverbs 31:27-28 says,  “She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed;  her husband also, and he praises her.”

Love of a Mother – can not be measured

A mothers love can not be measured. It’s a brilliant gem to be treasured.” The love of a mother is the cornerstone of a vibrant and healthy home.  God created families and gave mothers a  unique place in the family unit.  They cook, clean, wash clothes, take care of the  scrapes and bruises, they often are the first one up in the morning or the last one down at night. They have to juggle being a wife, raising the children, working at jobs, and managing the home. The heart and love of a mother is like a rare jewel.

I have been blessed to have an incredible mother who loved her children in more ways than I can begin to share.  She made many sacrifices for our family and was always there to encourage and nurture us.  She did all she could and more to make sure all of our needs were met and to keep a loving and peaceful home even in the middle of some difficult times.  Thanks mom!

God has blessed me with an awesome woman of God for a wife and the mother of our children, and now the grandmother of our grandchildren.  She is the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman.  She is the most gracious and loving mother and wife I have ever met.  Thanks Trudy!

The world  attacks the idea of the Christian home and the value of a mother.  They try to minimize and devalue motherhood.    However,  the Word of God tells us that motherhood is a high calling of God.  Moms have the solemn responsibility of creating a home where kids are loved and Christ is honored.

Mothers make up a crucial part of our lives.   It is important to show our love and appreciation to these dedicated women in our lives and never take them for granted. So if you just read this I encourage if you can give her hug, kiss her on the cheek, take her out for lunch or just call her and let her know how grateful you are.

HOW GREAT – THE LOVE OF A MOTHER!
