How to Increase Your Faith – 2 important ingredients

How to Increase Your Faith

You have been given a “measure of faith” according to Romans 10:17,  but you need to know how to increase that measure of faith.  Every believer has faith, but it is up to us to develop and increase our faith.  Think of faith like your muscles. Every person has been given the same muscles, yet when you look at people you notice not everyone’s muscles are the same size. You have football players, weight lifters and others with huge muscles. Then there are others who have much smaller muscles. Why the difference? Those with the larger muscles have worked and developed their muscles by exercise and proper diet.  When we are born into this world we have muscles, but they are not developed.   Every baby has to begin exercising their muscles in order for them to develop, so they can begin to crawl and then walk and to do all the things needed to function in life.

How to Increase Your Faith – 2 important ingredients

Faith increases the same way.  Faith requires 2 important ingredients in order for it to develop and increase.  Without these ingredients your faith will remain weak and anemic. The result is doubt , wavering, and unbelief.  If we don’t increase our faith we will not be able to function spiritually in life to the fullness that God has for us. What are the two important ingredients?

  1.  Proper Diet.   The proper diet for increasing faith is the Word of God. We need to read, hear, study, meditate, and speak the Word of God every day. Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God.” Joshua 1:8 instructs us to, “...meditate on it (the Word) day and night…” If you want your faith to increase feed on God’s Word. Faith needs to be proper nourishment if it is going to increase.
  2.  Exercise.     Just like your muscles need exercise to develop and become stronger, so does your faith. The way to exercise you faith is to do what the Word of God says to do. In other words put the Word into action. James 2:17 in the Amplified version says, “faith if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).” Exercise your faith muscles by being obedient to the Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Your faith will grow stronger and bigger with the proper spiritual diet and exercise. This is how to increase your faith.   You have the potential to be a person of “great faith”. Make the decision to feed your faith with God’s Word and exercise your faith by putting the Word into action. I encourage to read this short message by Kenneth E. Hagin CLICK HERE – to help increase your faith.

We ought and indeed are obligated [as those in debt] to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, as is fitting, because your faith is growing exceedingly and the love of every one of you each toward the others is increasing and abounds.” 2Thessalonnians 1:3 Amplified
