Faith is a powerful force. Faith moves mountains. Faith heals diseases. Faith receives answers to prayer. Faith brings victory. Nothing is impossible with faith. Many know about the power of faith, yet they don’t always see positive results from their faith. Why? They are missing the key ingredient that turns the power of faith into results. What is this key ingredient that makes faith work? How does faith work? The secret ingredient that makes faith work is “LOVE”! Galatians 5:6 says, “For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which works by love.” Notice what it says,- “faith works by love”. If you own the most expensive and powerful car in the world, but it has no engine, that car is not going to do you any good. It won’t get you across the street. The same is true for your faith. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 tells us: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.”

You can have all the the power of faith, but if it is not done by love it is nothing, it’s like a clanging cymbal. Without love, no matter what you do it doesn’t profit you at all. Faith that produces real results only works by love. If you are operating in unforgiveness, judgementalism, pride, selfishness, envy, malice or strife, then you are not acting in love and your faith will be like that expensive car without an engine – you won’t be getting anywhere. LOVE IS THE ENGINE THAT MAKES FAITH WORK.

The love that makes your faith work is the “God kind of love”. This kind of love is not simply an emotion or feeling, but rather it’s a “choice”. It is a decision of your will. You must make the choice to love regardless of how you feel. The great news is as a Christian you have that love in you. Romans 5:5 tells us, “the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit…” You just have to choose to let it come out.

I want to encourage you to choose to walk in love. Show people the goodness of God in your everyday life. Treat others the way Jesus would. See people the way Jesus sees them. Be quick to forgive. Love is not boastful or proud. It is not easily angered. It doesn’t try to get even. This kind of love never fails. It’s what makes your faith work. (1Corinthians 13:4-8)

If you want to see faith work in your life you have to learn how to walk in love. You have to put down the flesh, that is your carnal nature, and let the love of God within you come out. The secret to seeing the power of faith work in your life is – to choose to love. How does faith work? It works by love!

How does faith work? Faith is a powerful force. Faith moves mountains.
