7 Reasons Why Jesus Came – Merry Christmas
7 REASONS WHY JESUS CAME TO THE WORLD
Merry Christmas to each and every one of you. It truly is a time of joy, hope, and peace. Christians around the world are preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Immanuel – God with us (Mt.1:23), the son of God – a true miracle. Of course, every child is a miracle, but this one would be different. Two thousand years ago as Mary lay on that makeshift bed made of straw she understood the child she had carried and now was about to give birth was special and set apart.
She clearly remembered and replayed the words of the angel that appeared to her and said, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God” (Luke 1:35) But why? Why was Jesus born?
There are a multitude of reasons why Jesus came to the world, the following are 7 very powerful reasons you can reflect on and be thankful for.
1. To Save the World
John 12:47. “I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.”
2. To Seek and Save the Lost.
Luke 19:10. “for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
3. To Destroy the Works of the Devil
1 John 3:8b. “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
4. To Preach the Gospel
Luke 4: 43, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.”
5. To Serve and Give His Life as a Ransome
Matthew 20:28. “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
6. To Give Life and Life More Abundant Here and Now
John 10:10b. “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
7. To Give Eternal Life
John 3:16-17. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”
Jesus was born so we could be born again. Make sure you are born again before you celebrate the birth of Jesus. How can you be born again (saved)? Believe in your heart Jesus is the son of God and confess Him as your Lord and Savior. (Rom. 10:9)
Merry Christmas. We are praying for you to have a super blessed Christmas. “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:14)
