You Will Have What YOU Say… what words are you speaking?
You Will Have What You Say
Jesus is the one who said, “You will have what you say”. It’s found in Mark 11 verse 23, “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Mark it down, you will have what you say, good or bad, rather you believe or not.
Words Are Important
Words are important. James tells us our words determine the course of our life like a rudder on ship determines the direction of the ship. How you set the rudder will determine the course the ship will go. The words you speak, they will set the course for your life.
Where you are in your life today is a product of the words you have spoken in the past. Where your life goes tomorrow, next week, next year will be determined by the words you speak going forward.
Sadly, many people sabotage their life by speaking negative and critical words.
Words Are Powerful
Words are powerful. Proverbs 8:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” The words you speak will either produce life or death. When you speak words that are in line with God’s word – power is released that produces life. The opposite happens when you speak words of fear and doubt – you open the door to Satan, and he brings confusion and death to your life.
Speak God’s Word
The key is to speak God’s Word over your life, family, ministry, job, etc. Don’t speak your opinion, or what others say, don’t speak the circumstances, or how you feel. God is not obligated to do anything with those words.
BUT – when you speak His Word, He has promised to watch over His word to perform it. (Jeremiah 1:12) When you speak God’s Word it will not return void, but it will accomplish what it was sent to do. (Isaiah 55:11)
Your Words are Like Seeds
The words you speak become seeds, and those seeds will grow into either good or bad things that happen in your life. This is a principle of the kingdom and this is how it works whether you believe in Him or not. Just like gravity works whether you believe or not. You can say all day long you don’t believe in gravity, but if you jump off a cliff you are going to the bottom.
The Choice is Yours
The words that come out of your mouth are solely determined by you. The choice is yours. Either you can speak good things about yourself or you can speak bad things about you. You can choose to speak good things about others or bad things.
I know some of you are thinking, “I’m just speaking the facts. I’m just telling it like it is. I’m not going to lie or deny the real facts. I challenge to just begin to speak things the way God sees them and speak what He says about them?
When you speak God’s Word you aren’t denying circumstances or situations you are recognizing God is greater and your choosing to believe what He says and thinks. Speak God’s Word – the choice is yours!
Some Examples
The doctors report may say you are sick. You may feel sick. But God’s Word says by the stripes of Jesus you were healed (2Peter 2:24) So, say it – I am healed by the stripes of Jesus. You’re NOT denying or saying you aren’t sick, you are saying you are healed! Always choose to say what God says, instead of setting yourself in agreement with the current circumstance.
You may feel confused and not sure what to do or what decision to make. Things may seem difficult. Choose to speak God’s Word say, “My steps are ordered of the Lord.” (Psalm 37:23) Declare, “I hear the voice of the Lord and I don’t follow the voice of a stranger.” (John 10)
Here are other things God’s Word says about you that you can begin to speak over your life regardless of the situation or how you fell; “1) I am more than conqueror; 2) I can do all things through Christ; 3) I am blessed coming and going; 4) I have the favor of God on my life.”
What Words are You Speaking?
What words are you saying today? Start “calling those things that be not as though they are” (Romans 4:17), and then remain faithful to see how God works in your life. Begin speaking words filled with love and grace. Don’t speak negative or critical things about others. Choose to speak God’s Word. You will have what you say!
